1] 100 applications are invited for a post. In which 83 candidates have carried out atleast physics and 65 of them atleast of chemistry. And 10 of them neither carried physics nor chemistry. Find how many have versed in both physics and chemistry. [Ans:68]

 

2] a dice has numbers from 1 to 6. in how many denominations the dice can be arranged by having the numbers 1,6 :2,5: and 3,4 are alloted always be at opposite sides of the dice.  [Ans:6 ways]

 

3] the alphabets a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,I are assigned with values randomly fro, 1 to 9. a is 4. find out the values of d, g  for the following expression

a+b+c+d=d+e+f+g=g+h+I =17.  [ans: d=5, g=1]

 

4] two  girls played chess every day. They played only one game in each day. For each lose the loser has to give one chocolate to the winner. At finally, first girl says "I have obtained more wins than the other. she gave me 8 chocolates though she has won 12 games". How many games totally have been played.   [Ans:12+8+no. of first girl's wins]

 

5] A and B contain pure water and pure milk initially at some quanitity respectively.. A is poured into B to make B's content double. Then the content of B poured into A to make A's previous quantity double. Finally some of A's content poured into B to make those both contents equal.

A] how much amount of water and milk were in A and B at first?

B] finally, how much of mixers were in A and B.[Hint B contained one gallon more of water than the amount of milk in A]. [ans.: A-3litres Of water, B had 1 litre of milk]

 

6] A and B had a running race. A beat B by 10 metre in 100 mtrs. race. And in the second race A behind B by 10 mtres., they both started the race at the same time. This time who will reach the destination at first if they both have their speed as had in their previous one. [ans. They both reach the target at the same time]

 

7] a building owner built a house. For his new house he paid rs.1100 for both painter and plumber, rs.1300 for plumber and mason, rs. 4000 for both mason and carpenter, and rs.5300 for both carpenter and plumber. Totally how much he spent for his newly builit house. [don't know the answer]

 

8]  a married couple had totally 15 children. All those childs born at the time span of one and half year. Consider X is the eldest son and Y is the younger most brother of Z. if the age of X is eight times of Y. find out the present age of X. [ans. 21 years]

 

9] There are totally 6 ornaments arranged in two columns.

And some of the conditions were given to arrange those things in those columns.
