TCS PATTERN & INTERVIEW - 05 JUL 2006 - CHENNAI

Hi Friends

I had TCS on campus on 5-7-06 in Chennai. I am placed in it. Around 500 attended the written test. 256 attended the technical interview. 180 attended the HR. finally 151 were placed.

Written Test: the written test was a bit tough. It was online test.

Verbal-10 synonyms
            10 antonyms
            6 fill in blanks
            6 reading comprehension (20 minutes)
 Prepare GRE words as much as possible.

Aptitude- 38 questions (40 minutes)
In this section almost all the questions were from previous year papers. So for aptitude just practice previous year papers. That alone is enough.
 
Analytical- this section was exactly from GRE Barrons (12th edition). The questions order was also not changed. So MUG it up.
3 passages. Each 4 questions
12 questions (30 minutes)

Technical interview
I am from EIE dept. I was asked questions from C (sorting, structures, arrays).
Then I was asked questions from Digital design, as it was my area of interest. Then I was asked to explain my project or paper. It was for around 20 min.

HR
They asked me abt my family background. Then abt recent book which I read. I had put my hobbies as Reading books. They asked me to tell abt it. They asked whether I am ready to sign a bond for 2yrs. I said OK. They asked my strengths, why shud I select u?
